2018 and I have come to the mutual agreement that starting a website/blog/portfolio is much like planting a tree: the best time to do it was probably a few years ago, but the second-best time is now.
I guess that leaves me to introduce myself— so without further ado:
Hi! I’m Aaron. It’s nice to meet you.
We don’t know each other yet, but I have a feeling that we’ll get along really well. I’d understand if you were a bit more hesitant about our new relationship, however— so I made this handy cheat-sheet to help you know if this website is a place worth spending your time:
You’ll like this website if you:
- Get way too obsessed about the way stuff is designed
- Are into cities and/or urban planning
- Consider nature to be amazing, and/or enjoy growing and making things
- Eat food sometimes
- Like dogs, bears, or bees
- Enjoy a good digital or video essay
- Are interested in coding or programming
- Have friends
- Do not have any friends
- Want to get inspired by hearing about travel/eating/fitness/etc.-type experiences
- Pronounce the word “crayon” the correct way
- Are that weirdo always looking for book recommendations
- Seek dubious advice in your spare time
- Have ever laughed and would like to repeat the experience
I’ll admit: it’s a pretty nische group of people I’m catering to— but I hope you can find something you like. As with the aforementioned tree, this website will hopefully grow and blossom into a hub for writing, creative projects, videos or podcasts, and maybe even some entrepreneurship that people are actually interested in… right?
Right! We’ll see how well that goes.
Like, subscribe, be merry— and all those other things I’m supposed to tell new people to promote my “brand” (whatever that is)—
All the best,
Aaron
